AMBASSADOR FOR A DAY
Hilo Church, Hawaii: After greeting visitors at the door, a greeter would walk them to their seats and introduce them to a family with similar interests. For instance, they would match the ages of the visitors' children with the children of a family in the church. This family would invite the visitors to the potluck and see that they were drawn into
the conversation. Everyone needs a turn at being ambassador
for a day.

SPIRITUAL GUARDIANS
Albany Church, Oregon: A spiritual guardian is assigned to each new member and announced at the person's baptism or the day they were introduced to the congregation and voted into membership.

THEME STORIES
Washington Conference: "I like it when the pastor and the worship committee chooses a theme for the 11:00 am service. Those who have part are aware of the theme and focus their part in the service to the theme. For instance, the person telling the children's lesson is told ahead what the theme is; the person then chooses a children's story or lesson that is on that theme.

MANAGEABLE CHURCH NURSERY
For the last 30 minutes of church, junior-age children or teens take the children 3 years and younger into the church nursery, a room off the sanctuary, if possible. There the children can play on the floor (that has a comforter thrown over it), with soft toys. This allows their parents to enjoy the sermon and remember why they like to come to church. One
of the deaconesses could coordinate the kids who help and provide the necessary adult presence.
