Before choosing a children's story, ask:

1. Is it directed at the children--or at adults in the congregation?
2. Does is it help children connect with the day's sermon or theme?
3. Does it teach with grace? (An awful lot of the legalism we struggle with as adults traces back to the way we teach obedience to children.)
